    Whitman Conservation District board members April 10 approved to move to a new location at the former JJ Building Supply. The conservation district is leasing office space at the south end of the store building at $500 per month until the end of the year. They are leasing the space from John Pearson who is now offering lumber and other building supply materials at the location.     Between 50 to 60 head of draft horses and mules are expected to be in action over the weekend at the Old Time Farming Days Plowing Bee next to the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds this weekend, according to Stan Riebold one of the organizers of the event. The Colfax bee will be the fourth in a series of bees that use horse-drawn equipment for farming. The first event was in Ellensburg in March. Other bees were in Pomeroy and Odessa this month.     After winning two district competitions in Cheney and Ellensburg, the 4H Palouse Area Robotics Team competed last week (April 10-12) in the FRC Pacific Northwest District Championship in Portland.     A total of 9,000 fish have been slated for planting in Whitman County fishing ponds during the month. Official day for opening of lake fishing is April 26. Pampa Pond at LaCrosse is listed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to receive 6,000 catchable fish for the season. Other planning totals on the list include; Lasz Pond at Garfield, 2,000; Gilchrist Pond on Union Flat, 500 and Riparia Pond, 500.     The Colton High School baseball team (5-5) picked up two wins over Touchet Saturday at home. Taking the first game 10-0 on the mercy rule after Jake Straughan threw 13 strikeouts, Colton then won the second 5-4. Jordan Druffel pitched in the second, throwing 10 strikeouts with one walk in seven innings. With the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Touchet scored to lead in the bottom of the seventh.     Colfax girls rolled up 144 points Tuesday to dominate an eight-team meet at the brand new track at Ritzville. The hosts finished second with 109 points on the girls side.     The Rosalia High softball team is 3-6 overall, 1-3 in league after a 31-20 loss to Gar-Pal/Tekoa-Oakesdale at home Tuesday. Trailing 28-7 in the fifth inning, Rosalia scored 13 runs to stave off the 10-run rule. “I told them they had to score 11 to stay in it and they scored 13,” said second-year coach Whitney Bowerman.
