Colton baseball takes doubleheader over Touchet

The Colton High School baseball team (5-5) picked up two wins over Touchet Saturday at home.

Taking the first game 10-0 on the mercy rule after Jake Straughan threw 13 strikeouts, Colton then won the second 5-4.

Jordan Druffel pitched in the second, throwing 10 strikeouts with one walk in seven innings.

With the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Touchet scored to lead in the bottom of the seventh. Colton’s Dalton Patchen delivered his fourth RBI of the day to tie the score. Cody Meyer then hit a base hit to bring Patchen in for the winning run, to end the game.

Straughan led the team at the plate on the afternoon, hitting three singles in the first game and three in the second. In addition, Patchen had a double and a triple in the first game and Brady Chadwick hit two base hits in the second.
