State lists plants for area fishing; April 26 opening

A total of 9,000 fish have been slated for planting in Whitman County fishing ponds during the month. Official day for opening of lake fishing is April 26.

Pampa Pond at LaCrosse is listed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to receive 6,000 catchable fish for the season. Other planning totals on the list include; Lasz Pond at Garfield, 2,000; Gilchrist Pond on Union Flat, 500 and Riparia Pond, 500.

Also, Union Flat Creek in the Colton area is scheduled to receive 500 fish.
