    Lacrosse On Halloween, there are lots of activities planned for all ages. On Monday, Oct. 31, there will be a chili feed at The Gathering Place from 5-7 p.m. There will be chili and hot dogs provided by the LaCrosse Business Group.   • LaCrosse changes Farm Fest calendar

    Lacrosse LaCrosse Business Group has decided to move the day for the LaCrosse Farmers' Festival back to the fourth Saturday in June. The festival at one time had been observed on the fourth Saturday of that month but was later advanced to the third Saturday. The group decided to go back to the fourth Saturday because of the competition from other area events booked on the third Saturday of the month. The festival date for next year will be June 24....

    Lacrosse St. Joseph's Catholic Church will have pinochle night Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome, and they hope to see many pinochle enthusiasts. LaCrosse Café is open for business this week. The grand opening was Tuesday. Hours of operation will be Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Darlene Kates, Julie Roberts and Soni Broeckel are the new proprietors. In addition to their regular hours, they hope to have some special events and will be open extra hours during hunting season....

    Lacrosse Selbu Women will host a bake sale at the Gathering Place in LaCrosse Friday, Sept. 30, at 9:30 a.m. LaCrosse yard of the month award for September went to Pete and Peggy Bryan.   • LaCrosse seniors offer harvest meals

    Lacrosse Members of the LaCrosse High School class of 2017 have started a harvest meal service as a fund raising project. For a $10 fee, they will make lunches for harvest crews and deliver them to LaCrosse and Washtucna by 10 a.m. July 23 and 30. Lunches will include a hoagie sandwich with a choice of meat and/or cheddar cheese, mayo and mustard packets, lettuce, onion, tomato along with fruit, chips, pickle, a drink and a homemade dessert.     Lacrosse Trey Fleming, Lauren Stubbs and TJ Harder won the State Hall of Chapters booth competition at the state FFA convention in the WSU campus last week. They earned a trip to Nationals this fall. The Meats team placed second at the state competition. All four girls placed in the top 10.     Lacrosse LaCrosse Yard of the Month award for May went to Eileen Carter. The Yard of the Month committee this year is asking the residents of LaCrosse to help select winners. They will put ballot boxes at the post office and the store, and residents can fill out out one of the the forms, located next to the ballot boxes, and drop it in the box. The collection date will be posted on top of the boxes and the rules for the contest are on the back of the voting form. They encourage all residents of LaCrosse to participate....

    Lacrosse LaCrosse FFA meats team placed first at the Asotin County Fair. Team members were Britte Harder-first, Abby McGregor-second, Jessica Guske-fifth, Nicole Harder-seventh and Weston Miller.     Lacrosse LaCrosse Community Pride is now accepting donations for the annual silent auction which will be Saturday, June 18, at the Gathering Place during the Farmers' Festival. Bids will be accepted on items from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. during the day. Donated items for the auction can be dropped off at Jasper Trucking. Proceeds for the auction are used to maintain the Gathering Place and library sections of the LaCrosse Market Building.     Lacrosse Jadyn Guske won prepared public speaking and Britte Harder won extemporaneous speaking in the FFA sub district competition and will compete in the district event today. Sunday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Country Bible Church at Dusty will host a Homestead Ministries soup mixes for the needy bagging session.   • Bennett memorial fund goes to Children's Miracle Network

    Lacrosse All proceeds from a recent pool tournament at the Pastime Tavern were donated to a memorial for Trevor Bennett who was fatally injured last summer in a traffic accident. His parents, Jim and Dena Bennett, are donating the funds to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in Trevor’s name. More than $900 was raised at the pool tournament. Since then others have donated and brought the total to almost $1,200. The Bennetts are going to make the pool tournament an annual event. All funds will stay in the Inland Northwest.     Lacrosse The senior class will serve breakfast Feb. 13 from 8 to 10 a.m. at The Gathering Place. Breakfast will include biscuits, gravy and ham. Cost will be $5.     Lacrosse LaCrosse Community Outreach Center board member Cheyenne Palmer said the center would like to start 2016 by acknowledging all the support it received in 2015. Its mission is to raise the quality of life for all of the community by meeting basic food needs for any neighbors facing hardship. It is able to provide service to the community through revenue from the Outreach Thrift Shop, direct donations and for 2015 a grant from the Inland Northwest Community Foundation.     Lacrosse LaCrosse was a very busy place Saturday, Dec 12. The day started with the Class of 2016 breakfast. Several people enjoyed a hearty breakfast and helped the senior class in their fundraising efforts. At 10 a.m. Santa arrived on the fire truck with lights blazing and sirens blaring.     Lacrosse The WSU Robotics Club "programmed" their way into LaCrosse for an open house Saturday. The students came with the aim of inspiring those who saw their demonstrations and projects.     Lacrosse Santa Claus will come to LaCrosse Dec. 12 to the Gathering Place. Breakfast will be served by the senior class of LaCrosse High School from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. Cost for breakfast is $7. The UMC Little Theatre opened its doors with the showing of the movie "No More Baths" and was enjoyed by all ages.     Lacrosse Three members of the WSU Robotics Club came to LaCrosse High School Oct. 27 and visited the science class taught by Matt Wysock.
