Santa makes LaCrosse stop

Lacrosse

LaCrosse was a very busy place Saturday, Dec 12. The day started with the Class of 2016 breakfast. Several people enjoyed a hearty breakfast and helped the senior class in their fundraising efforts.

At 10 a.m. Santa arrived on the fire truck with lights blazing and sirens blaring. More than 50 children and a few adults made their Christmas wishes known.

Each child was able to choose a stuffed animal after sitting on Santa’s lap. Meanwhile, the Library had several Christmas crafts for the kids to put together.

The WSU School of Design and Construction was assigned the Ice Age Flood project to be displayed in a museum setting for the town of LaCrosse. This project is part of the Rural Community Design Incentive and was presented in individual displays by the students on Dec. 9 in Pullman. Peggy Bryan and Tedd Nealey attended the presentations and were impressed with the quality of work, ideas and practical ways of making the project operational. Murals, an aquarium of the landscape with actual water running through it as well as realistic models were displayed.

There are plans for LCP to schedule a time for this project to be presented at the next LCP quarterly meeting

Startin's Repair celebrated their 50th anniversary Saturday, Dec. 11, with a taco buffet meal in their very clean shop. Many people attended from the surrounding area which they serve.

The UMC Small Theatre will show "The Ghosts of Dicken's Past" Saturday, Dec. 19, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. The movie is free and concessions will be sold until the movie starts. The theatre is located at the United Methodist Church side room.
