Lacrosse

Three members of the WSU Robotics Club came to LaCrosse High School Oct. 27 and visited the science class taught by Matt Wysock. The club showed the students a drone they had built and a tractor-type robot that was remotely controlled with a camera and remote controls.

The three club members talked with the students in the classroom about how robotics is involved in so many areas of their lives.

The club will return Saturday, Dec. 5, to LaCrosse High School for a robotics day. There will be several stations showing different projects, programming, building and flying booths. It is open to all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The LaCrosse Community Pride Economic Development committee met Nov. 3 at the Gathering Place to hear a presentation by Phil Appel of Ag Energy. Susan Doll of CRAFT3 (a non-profit lending company), Robin Ohlgren of the SE WA Economic Development Association and Terry Lawhead of the State Chamber of Commerce were also present to evaluate the proposal Phil made for the town of LaCrosse.

Last Wednesday many from around the area attended the LaCrosse United Methodist Church annual turkey dinner.

Saturday at the Movies will have its opening Nov. 28 at the LaCrosse United Methodist Church's Little Theater. The movies will be free and concessions will be on sale. Showings will be at 3 and 6 p.m. The movies are family rated.
