    PULLMAN— A Veterans Round Table for Whitman County was held Monday, Oct. 16, in the Gladish View Room in Pullman, 115 Northwest State Street.     COLFAX — A Lewiston man was arrested after admitting to his involvement in a burglary near the base of Steptoe Canyon on Wednesday, October 27. Kevin Brotherton, 39, of Lewiston, was arrested after deputies from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office connected him to a vehicle that was seen driving away from the burglary site.     PULLMAN – Researchers from Washington State University have developed a mini-fridge sized reactor that rapidly grows T-Cells, a cancer fighting white blood cell. The machine manufactures the white blood cells 30% faster than current technologies, at a maximum growth rate of 95%.     COLFAX— The Public Works Department opened bids on the County-wide guardrail project during the Monday, Oct. 30 County Commissioners meeting. Director of Public Works Mark Storey said that the lowest bid came from Frank Gurney, Inc. for $821,334.70 and that Public Works will make the recommendation at the next commissioner’s board meeting next week, Monday, Nov. 6.     COLFAX — On Monday, Oct. 23, commissioners approved a bid for the Colfax Stockpile Site to Seubert Excavators of Cottonwood, Idaho, for $424,856.25. A second bid was made for the Stockpile Site by JK Crushing, totaling $661,265.15. A stockpile site is used for the manufacturing and stockpilings of rock and mineral fragments used for maintenance activities.
