Charge Fastpitch Softball staff receives award

COLFAX - Charge Fast Pitch softball head coach Jaime Colyar, associate head coach Aaron Colyar, and assistant head coach Jim Britton have all been honored with the 2023 ATEC/NFCA Region X Coaching Staff of the Year award.

The team was one of 10 recipients honored by their peers for the award.

To be eligible for the award, the programs head coach must be a member and be nominated by their peers. Winners were voted on by member head coaches in each of the 10 regions.

Charge Fast Pitch won the award for their region X. Colyar and the rest of the coaching staff led charge to a runner-up finish at the Fourth of July Shootout in Spokane. The team also earned a quarterfinal appearance in Yakima for the Summer Smash and Slam tournament.

The coaching staff has been with Charge since 2020, and just completed their fifth season this year.

"Our 2023 season was great. We had a few firsts for our organization," said assistant head coach Jim Britton.

"The award means so much to our staff. It is truly an honor to be voted for by our fellow coaches in travel ball in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming," said Britton.

The Charge Fast Pitch team is looking forward to continuing the success from 2023 into the 2024 season, where the team will look to attending their first national tournament.
