Bid approved for county stockpile site

COLFAX — On Monday, Oct. 23, commissioners approved a bid for the Colfax Stockpile Site to Seubert Excavators of Cottonwood, Idaho, for $424,856.25.

A second bid was made for the Stockpile Site by JK Crushing, totaling $661,265.15.

A stockpile site is used for the manufacturing and stockpilings of rock and mineral fragments used for maintenance activities.

Public Works Director Mark Storey said that the bid was put out for rock suppliers.

The engineer’s estimate came out to a total of $485,575.

The bid opening had an estimated quantity of 40,000 tons of furnish and stockpile crushed surfacing top course, with an engineer’s estimate of $8, totaling $320,000. Seubert Excavators’ unit price came to $7.05, totaling $282,000. JK Crushing’s unit price was $7.05, totaling $454,000.

There was an estimated quantity of furnish and stockpile 3/8 inch chips, with an engineer’s estimate at $9 a unit and totaling $60,000. Seubert Excavators unit price of $11.75, totaling $70,500, and JK Crushing reached $15.35 a unit, totaling $92,100.

An estimated quantity of 5,000 tons of furnish and stockpile 1/4 inches minus was an engineer’s estimate of $9 a unit, totaling $45,000. Seubert Excavators’ unit price was $8.25, totaling $41,250, and JK Crushing came out to $48,415.15.
