    The 13th annual Rosalia High School Art Show, titled “Back to the Stone Age” this year, will feature artwork created throughout the year as part of Rosalia’s 2012 Battle Days Celebration. Student art will include functional pottery, ceramic sculptures, paintings, drawings and photography.   • King Arthur visits Rosalia

    A Missoula Children’s Theater production of King Arthur’s Quest resulted in two performances at the school April 14. Students at all grade levels were encouraged to tryout for roles in the performance at the start of the week and practice for the performance under the tutelage of MCT directors during the week. Music and lyrics for the show were written by Michael McGill. Rosalia Teachers, Pat’s Book, Gifted Grannies and Brad and Brenda Kjack provided support for the show.... Full story

  • Rosalia royal float work underway

    Rosalia Volunteers are now working on the Rosalia float which will be in the Lilac Parade in Spokane May 19. Rosalia royalty and the float committee plan a community barbecue Friday May 18 to preview the float which will represent the Rosalia-Thornton-Malden area.     Rosalia Rosalia Chamber of Commerce is looking for pictures of past Battle Days celebrations in town. They plan to use the pictures to display in a Battle Days collage. Copies of pictures can be mailed to the chamber at Box 132 in Rosalia. Contributors are asked to identify the people in the pictures and attempt to pinpoint the year of the celebration.   • Dollars for Scholars event earns $3,000 for Rosalia students

    Rosalia The annual Rosalia Dollars for Scholars crab feed and silent auction earned approximately $3,000 for the scholarship fund which supports Rosalia graduates who pursue education beyond high school.   • Rosalia volunteers halt Brass Rail, Thornton fires

    Rosalia Rosalia Fire Department responded to two fires Sunday and managed to douse the blazes in time to halt extensive damage. An early morning fire damaged the front of the Brass Rail Tavern. Chief Bill Tensfeld said the driver of a Spokesman Review delivery truck noticed smoke in front of the tavern when he made a delivery at about 3 a.m. and called 911.     Rosalia Rosalia Garden Club Dec. 14 delivered 43 cheer baskets in the surrounding area to those who have lost a loved one, undergone medical problems or just find themselves alone over the past year. Garden Club members prepared the baskets with homemade candies, cookies and other holiday goodies.     Rosalia Matt and Jen Eberle and family hosted the Wolf-Fetzner family reunion on Fairbanks Road July 23. There were 53 people in attendance. The cousins came from Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Illinois. They are descendants of Leopold and Amalia Wolf who settled about three miles southwest of Latah in 1904, and Charlie and Minnie Fetzner who settled in the Konah area east of Rosalia in 1905.
