    The Big Hoss You could tell Rick Perry was going to be a big problem for Mitt Romney as soon as the Texas governor started blowing him kisses.     Hullabaloo, Colfax’s annual fall event, kicks off in a week. Activities will take place up and down Main Street Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8.     Willson wins big in state rematch Morgan Willson booked a resounding win last Saturday at the Connell Invitational when she and Sierra Spiker of Oroville crossed paths in the big Connell Invitational. Willson and Spiker, who edged the Colfax senior a year ago in the state XC title run at Pasco, led a field of 99 runners over the hilly Connell course.     Colfax volleyball players will open their league run Saturday with the Kettle Falls team visiting for homecoming weekend. The K club will be the first of seven straight league matchups with Springdale also making a visit on Tuesday.     Gilbert Ward Pierce has been charged with negligent driving after investigation reports have been received in a case which started with his arrest at the June 18 sprint boat races at St. John. Pierce, 60, was arrested and jailed on probable charges of vehicular assault. He was released on his own recognizance and formal charges were never filed in superior court.     There is some new scenery for travelers on Highway 26. From Longmire Road in Adams County to Dusty, the Washington State Department of Transportation has installed 45,000 linear feet of new guardrails along the highway. The original rail had 12-feet of spacing between the posts. The new rail has six feet.
