Prairie Foundation seeks grant request

Palouse Prairie Foundation seeks proposals for its 2011 mini-grants program. The foundation is a nonprofit organization whose overarching mission is to promote the preservation and restoration of native Palouse Prairie ecosystems in Whitman and Latah counties.

The Palouse Prairie Foundation is committed to helping individuals and organizations in both Whitman and Latah Counties to conserve and restore prairie remnants. This program provides small grants to students, teachers, conservationists, landowners and others interested in the conservation and restoration of Palouse Prairie. Monetary awards range from $50 - $300.

Mini-grants have been used in past years to provide cost-share for private restoration efforts, support installation of an informational kiosk and interpretive native plant trail at the Phillips Farm by the Moscow High School Environmental Club, and support the restoration of a half acre of prairie along the Latah Trail.
