Their first game of the season was Tuesday, Sept. 12, a home game against the Dayton Bulldogs. The Wildcats were dominant in the game, winning three-straight sets to sweep the Bulldogs.     PALOUSE — The Garfield-Palouse (GAR-PAL) Vikings, who started the season 2-0, faced their toughest opponent yet in the DeSales Irish Friday, Sept. 15. The game was played in Walla Walla.     ST. JOHN — The St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles (5-2-1) defeated the Colton Wildcats Thursday, Sept. 14, in LaCrosse. The Eagles moved into first-place in the district with the win against the Wildcats. Oakesdale Nighthawks are second with their 1-0 district record.     ASOTIN — The Colfax Bulldogs competed in their second cross country meet of the season Saturday, Sept. 16. The Bulldogs competed in the Les MacDowell Invite at Asotin high school. There were two other Whitman County teams who had athletes compete in the Invite. Both St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) and Colton sent athletes to Asotin for the meet.     COLFAX — The County Commissioners met Monday morning, Sept. 18, for their workshop meeting, declaring a state of emergency to replace the Chipman Trail Bridge at the request of Public Works Director Mark Storey.     COLFAX — The Colfax School Board held a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 12, in which they decided to take a higher-priced bid for a bus. Superintendent Jerry Pugh said that they bid for a bus each year, and different bus companies give the board bids on their buses.
