    Endicott Town Hall has sent out a notice of the hours the office is open and the dates the office will be closed for 2019. Hours open will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holiday closures will be on January 1, 21; February 18, 19, 20, 21; April 25; May 27; June 25 26, 27; July 4; Sept. 2, 4, 5; Oct. 22, 23, 24; Nov. 11, 28, and Dec. 24, 25.     The town has settled down from all the construction that has been going on for months. The railroad crew that was here building the new train siding is done. The crew doing the fiber optic installation has left and is now in Winona. The large elevator crew that was erecting the new grain bins is done. The installation of machinery in the bins will continue for a few more weeks. The string of cement trucks are done and semi trucks hauling gravel have slowed down a lot.     Endicott Community Club hosted Santa's arrival in town. The lighted decorations scattered around the downtown area at the direction of Carol Larson and her crew were lit to start the night. Many private homes are lit up with lights and decorations to accompany the others. Japanese lanterns were lit and rose over town to stay in one place, no wind.     The Community Club lights will be turned on, Japanese lanterns will be lit, fireworks will be set off and Santa will arrive. All these events will be at the school. The Community Club will be serving cocoa and cookies to all Santa visitors.     Endicott Community Club served approximately 210 at its German Dinner and Silent Auction. The auction items sold well. Former resident Sharon Huff and daughter Sheryl Kyllo came from Anacortes to attend the German Dinner and visit with family and friends. They stayed with Sue Bafus. Endicott Food Center's annual "Shop Local for the Holidays" event Nov. 11 had 13 vendors in attendance. Along with gift shopping, there were a lot of appetizers along with beverages.     Endicott Community's annual wine and beer tasting party was at Endicott Food Center Saturday, Oct. 20. The evening was a success, with several wines and beers to try out and Italian sodas of various flavors. The appetizers were many and delicious.     A group of women from the Endicott area had their mammograms at Whitman Health and Medical Center Friday, Oct. 12. They have been meeting each year since 2004 for this event. They go together for support, visiting, a little shopping and have their free lunch at the hospital cafeteria. The hospital staff works with the group to get them all in before lunch, as they arrived at 8 a.m. The staff is there to greet them, and the process begins.   • Excavation begins Vets' memorial project

    The Community Club's Memorial for Veterans project has started. Chris Nelson, Myrna Morasch and Cinda Tribble were at Multiflora Park to direct an excavator from Spokane with removing stumps from the park to make room for the memorial. There was a total of 18 stumps in that area that were removed. Russell Crosswhite of Clean Slate Spokane did the work. October brings back Endicott's free dinners.     Cinda Tribble, Gail Bilow, Georgia Wells and Anne Lowe made a trip to Bend, Ore., to stay for the weekend of July of 13, 14 and 15. They attended the annual quilt show in Sisters, Ore. The weather was extremely hot. A large crowd of more than 10,000 people from all over the U.S. and some from foreign countries attended. The display of hundreds of quilts was amazing. The Endicott Trap Club held their Four-Gun Shoot, the swimming pool was busy, the dunk tank had a lot of participants, the food and pie booths were very busy all evening and the bouncy house had a lot of takers.     Endicott Jamie Misner put out a call for people to help pick up trash along the highway between Endicott and Winona for Earth Day, April 22. Thirty-five people showed up for the task.
