    Colfax volleyball players cruised through two NE league matches in the last two rounds to advance their league record to 6-0 with three more matches left on the NE league schedule. Saturday the Bulldogs will go for their seventh straight league win when they host the Wilbur/Creston Wildcats for the first time in a league round.     The Garfield-Palouse football team traveled to St. John to play the S.J.E. Eagles last Friday and made quick work of the task. Leading 40-0 at the end of the first quarter, the Vikings went on to win 68-26.     The Colfax High School cross country team competed at a District 7 league meet Oct. 14 at Harrington. Tim Cornelius led the Bulldogs with a time of 19:23 for a 16th-place finish. Finishing 18th was Colfax’s Chase Baerlocher in 19:44 followed by Jaydon Soncarty in 32nd (21:26). Rounding out the Colfax runners, Doug Wilson finished with a time of 22:01 for 37th.     St. John runners, who were booked to host a Southeast League meet on their golf course Wednesday, competed in the big Northwest Christian Invitational Saturday at Audubon Park in Spokane. The three mile course of three laps around the park drew 66 runners for the boys race with Nathan Vanos of St. George's posting the win at 17:26.     Football matchups for the crossover round between 2B schools in the NE and SE leagues will offer four tickets to the state playoff grid which will start the following week. The 10 teams in the NE have been allowed three slots at the start of the playoffs and the four teams in the SE have been allowed one.     On Sunday, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officials received a report of a male wolf shot by a farmer who had pursued the wolf in a vehicle.
