A memorial service for Lorene W. Ball, 87, was Monday, Sept. 26, at Grace Lutheran Church in Potlatch, with the Rev. Larry Vieth officiating. She was cremated, and her ashes were buried at Mendenhall Cemetery. Mrs. Ball died last Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the Guardian Angels Homes of Lewiston where she had been a resident since March of this year. Farmington’s Community Center, a state registered historical building, has received a new coat of paint from Stivers Painting out of Tensed, Idaho. This was made possible from a $10,000 donation from the Farmington Methodist Church for improvements to the center. The church, which disbanded last year, donated their church building to the town of Farmington. The Community Center was gifted to the town of Farmington in 1985 from the Masonic Lodge. Lamont Kathy Shields attended her Cheney High School class of 1951 60-year reunion Sept. 19, 20 and 21 at the Northern Quest Casino. Twenty-four classmates out of the class of 49 attended. Teacher Phil Weagraff’s seventh grade students collected macroinvertebrates to evaluate the pollution index of the river.
