    The Hooper community hosted a wedding shower for two hometown couples May 19. Caleb Hannas and Lindsey Miller and Lane Hannas and Brittany Breidenbach were the guests of honor. Caleb and Lane grew up in Hooper and are the sons of Sharon and Dave Hannas. Lindsey grew up in Hay and LaCrosse, and is the daughter of Terry and Tawnja Miller.     Hooper Lillian McGregor and Emily Thompson in the winning round during Robot Games at the regional competition. The McGregor Company and the town of Hooper hosted a celebration Saturday, June 17, to mark the 135th anniversary of the McGregor Land and Livestock Company.     Hooper Betty and Conly Merritt spent March 17 to 24 in Fort Jones, Calif., to attend the funeral of Betty's mother, Eleanor Iten. They stayed with Betty's sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Hammer. Eleanor had spent the last several winters living in Hooper.     Hooper Members of the West Coast Spinone Italiano Club conducted a three-day dog training event in Hooper from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5. The Spinone Italiano is a wire-haired pointer that originated in Italy. The Hooper training event was hosted by Andy and Susan McGregor of Port Townsend. She is a former Hooper resident.     Hooper McGregor Land and Livestock and the Hooper community honored Betty Merritt with a retirement party Saturday, Oct. 18, after 17 years of service as the bookkeeper and office person at the Hooper office. More than 80 friends, family and residents attended the party, where she was presented with a plaque by Alex and Ian McGregor noting the appreciation for her years of dedicated service.     Hooper The McGregor girls participated in the Palouse Empire Fair. Abby and Genevieve showed market steers, where they received blue ribbons. Both girls made the finals in fitting and showing Friday and sold in the Junior Livestock Sale Saturday. Lillian McGregor took market goats and Nigerian Dwarf goats.
