Catherine Edna Hamilton-Capra, 68, of Tustin, California, passed away May 20, 2023, in Tustin.

Catherine was born on Sept. 13, 1954, in Colfax, Washington, to Gordon and Joyce Hamilton. She grew up in St. John, Washington, and graduated from St. John Highschool. She attended the University of Idaho for a time and graduated from Spokane Community College with a degree in Horticulture Design. Catherine later graduated from Kinman Business University with a business degree.

She married Louis Capra on May 4, 1991. Catherine worked as a telephone operator in Moscow, Idaho. They later moved to Spokane where she went to work for the Gonzaga University Athletic Department doing fundraising. She later went to work for HUD (Housing & Urban Development) where she had a 30 plus year career in loan approvals. Catherine and Louis made their home in Spokane, Seattle and later moved to Tustin, Calif. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crochet and made and sold many Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, as well as Ellie Patch Elephants.

Catherine is survived by her husband Louis at their Tustin, Calif., home; her brother's, David & Byron Hamilton of St. John, Wash .; her son-in-law Eric Gorsuch of Seattle, Wash. Also surviving is mother-in-law Lisa, sisters-in-law Ameila, Arlene, and Marcie and a brother-in-law Miguel. She was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Joyce Hamilton; sister Lisa Gorsuch, infant brother Stephen J. Hamilton and by a brother-in-law Ruben, and sisters-in-law Graziela, and Margie.

The memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Eccles Community Hall, 9752 SR23, St. John, Wash. Catherine will be laid to rest prior to the memorial service at the St. John Cemetery.
