Michael Leroy Miller

July 18, 1943 - March 10, 2024

Beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, Michael Leroy Miller, 80, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, from complications related to Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born on July 18, 1943, in Colfax, Wash., to George and Katherine Fish Miller. He was the older brother to sister Cheryl. Growing up he worked on the family farm, raised hogs in FFA, and loved sports particularly basketball. Michael graduated from Oakesdale High School in 1961.

He attended Columbia Basin College, W.S.U. and finished at Eastern Washington College (now Eastern Washington University) where he earned his first undergraduate degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam. After completing his three-year military commitment and tour of duty in the Vietnam War, Michael went back to school at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash., and got his teaching degree. He met his wife, Gail Agranoff Miller, and they were wed on August 20, 1972.

He taught in the Sumner School District for over 35 years. Michael was a husband, grandfather, uncle, brother, coach, elementary school teacher, and proud Army veteran. Michael loved sports, especially golf, Seahawks, soccer, and Gonzaga University and college basketball.

Michael is survived by his sister Cheryl; and three sons, Jason (Heather), Lucas (Amber), and Dustin. He has four grandchildren, Anthony, Rilyn, Aven, and Elle.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Gail Agranoff Miller, mother Katherine Fish Miller, and father George Miller.

A committal service for Michael will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
