Calvin Dean Burlingame

May 23, 1963 - March 24, 2024

Calvin Dean Burlingame passed away suddenly of natural causes on March 24, 2024, at the age of 60 years.

Calvin was born May 23, 1963, to Amos Dean Burlingame and Saundra Faye Burlingame in Colfax, Washington. After graduating from Colfax High School in 1982 “Coolage” joined and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp 1st tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division until his honorable discharge in 1986.

After his discharge, he attended the Divers Institute of Technology in Seattle, WA and then relocated to New Orleans, La., where he began his work with Taylor Diving and Salvage and continued to work in locations around the world in the Diving Industry.

Calvin went to attend Louisiana Community College and graduated Summa Cum Laude in Electronics Technology in 1998. After LCC, Calvin began working with remote operated submersible to assist divers locate and repair damaged oil rigs and pipelines. Calvin continued working with submersibles until he returned to Colfax to help care for his parents in 2011.

Calvin was a compassionate man, assisting family and friends wherever possible. His care for his parents was unwavering. He was always putting them first above all else.

Calvin is survived by his sister Darci Burlingame of LaConner, Wash., and his brother Kevin Burlingame of Colfax, Wash .; nieces, Heidi White, Heather Hardgrove, Katie Rohrich, Deana Burlingame, and Tina Hardgrove; nephews, Matthew Burlingame and Cody Rohrich; and by numerous and loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nephews and nieces. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Saundra Burlingame, his older sister Wendy Burlingame, and by his nephew Justin Hardgrove.

Calvin was more than an uncle, brother, and cousin. He was a wonderful mentor and teacher with open arms and always an open door. His laughter, his goofy smile, and his warm embrace will forever be missed and cherished. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 1 p.m., located at the Colfax Cemetery.
