Sherrie Vivian Novak, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Providence Sacred Heart in Spokane, Wa. Surrounded by loved ones.

Sherrie was born in Coos Bay, Oregon, To Bob and Joan Zimmerman. She grew up in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon. She has two brothers, Robbie and Johnny Zimmerman. Growing up she loved to ride and work with horses.

She married Micheal Holtman, in Coos Bay, Oregon, in 1973. They had three children together Shane, Travis and Josh. Sherrie raised her boys primarily on her own, working multiple jobs, while still keeping her boys in line.

She moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1975, with her oldest son Shane to be close to family. The younger boys were born over the next few years. She worked in hotels as a housekeeper. She loved the Rocky Mountains and being close to her parents, brothers, nieces and nephews.

In 1981, she moved to Colfax to be close to family and raise her boys in a small town. She married Bruce Davidson, raising her boys with him. She worked for the Siesta Motel and Whitman Health and Rehab, later working for Delores Cooper for 3 years. She worked for DSHS until retiring in 2011.

Sherrie met the love of her life Michael Novak, Sept 1994, later marrying August 30, 2007. They enjoyed listening to music and sharing peaceful time together. The couple lived in Colfax until moving to St. John in 2017.

Sherrie loved Janis Joplin, murder mysteries, musicals, Halloween, roses, the color purple and antiques. Most of all she loved her family. Her family was everything to her and she was everything to her family.

Sherrie is survived by her husband, Michael A. Novak, St. John; sons, Travis and Jandi Holtman, Dacono, Colorado, and Josh and Angie Davidson, Moscow, Idaho; daughter in law, Crystal Davidson, St John; grandchildren: Sam, Shawn, Ariana, Race, Lily, Molly, Joey, Navaya, and Carter; great-grandchildren, Hazel and Ryder.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Robbie Zimmerman and son, Shane Davidson.

A celebration of life will be August 27, 2022, at the Colfax Eagles at 3 pm, with a potluck to follow.
