Terry Lee Stueckle

Terry Lee Stueckle, 78, of Pasco died Monday, March 15, 2021, while on vacation in Astoria, Wash. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 10, at 1 p.m., at Bethel Church, 600 Shockley Road, Richland, Wash. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Terry Lee Stueckle was born May 3, 1942, in Colfax, Wash., to Edwin Arthur Stueckle and Anna Gunelia Collins Stueckle. He lived on the family farm in Dusty, Wash. He drove a wheat truck at age 12. He attended Lacrosse Elementary School. He graduated Colfax High School in 1960.

After he saw the movie "Strategic Air Command," Terry's ambition was to have a career in the Air Force. He spent 21 years in the Air Force as a Legal Specialist. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in legal offices in Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, Duluth, Minn .; Sault St. Marie, Mich .; and in the office of the Judge Advocate General in Washington, D.C., where he served as a regional claims supervisor. During his career, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and numerous Commendation medals.

Terry served as the Civil Deputy in the Whitman County Sheriff's Office in Colfax, Wash., for four years while Michele was attending school at WSU. Following that, he served as an administrator at Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, Calif., where he worked on classified contracts.

He was a baseball umpire and football referee volunteer. He also sang in church choirs. As a left-hander, he was an excellent bowler and participated in bowling leagues. He was a southern gospel quartet music fan, an Elvis Presley fan, and a baseball fan. He loved to take long trips in the car.

Terry Lee Stueckle was previously married to Melanie Lee Thigpen and had a son Edwin Lee Stueckle of Philadelphia, Pa. They divorced in 1972. Terry Lee Stueckle is survived by his wife Michele Elizabeth Stankey Stueckle – they were married for 42 years; son Edwin Lee Stueckle of Philadelphia, Pa .; brother Roger Lynn Stueckle of Pendleton, Ore .; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Edwin Arthur Stueckle; mother Anna Gunelia Collins Stueckle; and sister Gunelia Louise Stueckle Fowler.

Terry loved the Lord. He is now in His Savior's presence and completely healed.
