Richard (Dick) Lohman

Richard (Dick) Lohman, Oakesdale, Wash., passed away November 6, 2020. He was 83 years old. A private family graveside service will be in the Oakesdale Cemetery, with plans for a memorial service to be held at a later date. Dick was born November 16, 1936, in Colfax, Wash., to Ernest Lohman and Martha Klaveano. He graduated from Oakesdale High School in 1954 and attended college at North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Dick was a wheat farmer and cattle rancher in Oakesdale during the 1960's, 70's and 80's. Dick loved the rolling hills of the Palouse. He highly valued caring for the land that provided a way of life for so many years. Prior to farming Dick worked at McGregors as a plant manager in Thornton, Washington, and later at the Oakesdale Grange Supply.

Dick had a keen interest in Native American artifacts and Winchester guns. This spurred his passion in collecting antiques and collectibles of the Old West. Dick's hobby was preserving the homestead farmhouse on a quarter section of land off Warner Road.

Dick and his wife Teresa recently moved to La Dow Court Assisted Living in Garfield, Wash. He appreciated the loving care he received at La Dow. Dick loved his family; he and his wife Teresa would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this New Year's Eve.

Dick is survived by his wife Teresa, Garfield, Wash .; sons Dan Lohman (Leann) Spokane, Wash .; Rick Lohman (Pam), Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; David Lohman (Tavi), Spokane, Wash .; daughters, Kathy Robinson (Randy), Oakesdale, Wash .; Sheryl Long (Brent), Scottsdale, Ariz .; Kim Nelson (Steve), Thornton, Wash .; Tesi Lohman, Scottsdale, Ariz .; as well as stepchildren, Donald Trueblood (Jan), Spokane, Wash .; Dennis Trueblood, Spokane, WA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
