Micke Fe Hopkins, 65, died Oct. 31, 2017, at Whitman Hospital in Colfax after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Born Feb. 8, 1952, in Ritzville, to Floyd E. and Joan Hawks Hopkins, he was raised in Colfax and attended school in Steptoe. During the 1970s, Micke lived in Seattle where he worked as a planer at a sawmill.

He was born with Williams Syndrome, a developmental disorder that affects many parts of the body. This condition is characterized by mild to moderate intellectual disability or learning problems. He returned to Colfax and into the care facilities of Roy McDonald.

He met Cindy Ann Johnson and they were married in 1980. She died in 1987.

He enjoyed HO scale model trains and plastic models of all varieties. He was often seen walking in Colfax with longtime friend, Vera Hatley.

Surviving are his sister, Sandra (Gregg) Wise of Spokane; a brother, Monty (Sherry) Hopkins of Steptoe; four nieces, and three nephews.

He will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at the Colfax Cemetery.

Joseph H. Perry, 50, Colfax resident for the past 11 years, died last Monday, Oct. 30, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. Born in Spokane, Aug. 16, 1967, to Rick and JoAnn Perry, he was raised in Spokane and became a floor installer at a young age. He eventually started Perry's Carpet Services which he operated for 27 years. After moving to Colfax, he continued his business and contracted through Georgia Carpetworks in Pullman.

Surviving are his fiancee Wendy Baldwin; father Rick Perry; sons Nicholas and David Perry; stepsons, Ryan and Jared Jefferson; three brothers, three sisters, and six grandchildren.

Services are pending and will be announced at a later date.

A memorial service for Michael John Primmer, 23, was at the Freeman Middle School Gym Nov. 4. Pastor Amy Seymour of the Rockford Methodist Church officiated. A luncheon will follow the service.

He died Oct. 29, 2017, at his home in Fairfield.

Born Feb. 7, 1994, at Spokane Valley, to Randy L. and Patty Roberts Primmer, he was raised in Spokane, attended schools in Freeman, and graduated from Freeman High School in 2012. He attended North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene where he studied small engine repair.

Since 2016, he worked as a welder for Peak Industries in Spangle. He had made his home in Fairfield for the past year.

His hobbies included jet skiing, snow skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, dirt biking and working on cars.

Survivors include his parents, Randy and Patty Primmer, Worley; brother, Preston Primmer, Pullman; sister, Megan Primmer, Avery, Idaho; grandparents, Stan and Bev Primmer of Rockford; girlfriend, Trinity Papini, of Fairfield, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service for Ervie Mae Swanson will be Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at Moscow Cemetery with the Rev. Kathy Kramer officiating.

Mrs. Swanson died Nov. 4, 2017. Born to Lottie and John Thompson, July 23, 1931, in Moscow, she and her siblings attended Mooseheart Academy in Illinois. She graduated high school there and returned to Moscow to work at the University of Idaho library. Ervie married Donald A. Swanson Sept. 9, 1950. They raised four children, Bruce, Michael, Ellen and Steven. Her family grew to include three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Roy A. Weiker, 67, will be Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Garfield Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Dean Walker officiating. He died Oct. 13, 2017, at his home in Garfield.

Born Aug. 13, 1950, near Portland, Ore., to Chancey and Dorothy Deisc Weiker, he attended schools in Oregon and later attended college where he learned to be an electrician.

He married Judy Wanless May 8, 1971, in Beaverton, Ore. The couple moved to several places and settled in View, Wash., and lived there for 20 years. The couple later moved to Amboy, where they lived for the next 15 years. In 2006 they moved to Colfax where they operated Smokin' Papa BBQ for two years.

They moved to Garfield in 2008, where they operated Smokin' Papa Café for two years until health reasons forced them to close the café in 2011. Mrs. Weiker died in June of 2016.

Survivors include seven sons, Shane Weiker (Christie) Onalaska; Chad Weiker (Michelle) and Nathan Weiker (Jennifer), both Battleground; Charles Dietsel (Jessie) Pine, Ariz .; Jonathan Weiker (Chandra) and Ronald Weiker, both Spokane; Kane Weiker, Garfield; five daughters, Rebecca Caldwell, Vancouver, Wash .; Brianna Cook (Josh) Tacoma; Kristie Weiker, Portland; Lindy Weiker and Mandy Weiker, both of Spokane; seven grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. http://www.kramercares.com
