Arthur G. Evans

Dr. Arthur G. Evans, 85, who retried at Colfax in 1987, died unexpectedly last Thursday, March 31, 2017, at his home in Sun City, Ariz. A celebration of his life will be at a later date at Blanchard, Idaho.

Dr. Evans and his wife, Judy, spent winter months in Sun City and summer months at Stoneridge at Blanchard.

After receiving his degree in medicine in 1958 from the University of Oklahoma, he began practicing medicine in Priest River, Idaho, and then moved to Newport where he practiced for 17 years before coming to Colfax. He practiced in the medical building which was located on Canyon Street.

He was born Jan. 19, 1932, at Tulsa, Okla., to Arthur C. and Regina Gillot Evans. During the Korean War he served 18 months in the United States Air Force.

He and his wife celebrated 38 years of marriage March 17.

After he retired they lived many years at Priest Lake and later moved to Stoneridge. They spent the winters in Arizona.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
