Betty Lorraine Barton, 86, former long-time resident of LaCrosse who recently resided at Winona, died at her home Aug. 8.

Born Dec. 5, 1927, in Alberta, Utah, she was the oldest of six children born to Asa and Verla Smith.

She and Edward Barton, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II, were married Dec. 14, 1957.

She enjoyed flowers and vegetable gardening, crocheting and caring for animals. She was known for her kind and generous heart and dedication to those she loved.

Surviving are seven children, Eugene (Carol) Barton, Centralia; Lucinda (Michael) Hazel, Winona; Gwendolyn Badtram, Yakima; Beverly (Larry) Dodge, Hay; Edward Barton, LaCrosse; Maria (Michael ) Simon, Tri-Cities, and Arlea (Randy) Anderson, Coeur d'Alene; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Andrew G. Bridge, 5, will be Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Palouse City Park with the Rev. Phil Weagraff officiating. Andrew died at his Garfield home Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014.

Andrew was born Oct. 31, 2008, at Colfax to Michael and Randi (Keene) Bridge. He was born with congenital hydrocephalus.

Survivors include his parents Michael and Randi Bridge, Garfield; two brothers, Adrian and Alex Bridge; one sister, Kati Bridge, all of Garfield; his maternal grandmother, Debbi Hellinger, Garfield; paternal grandparents, Richard and Diane Bridge, Garfield; great-grandparents, Eugene and Mabel Bridge, Garfield, and Ken and Jaunita Feaster, Wickenburg, Ariz.

Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 2472, Spokane, 99210-2472.
