A graveside inurnment for Virgil R. Culton, 86, will be Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, 10 a.m., at the Garfield Cemetery with Forrest Miller officiating. Mr. Culton died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 3, 2014, at his Garfield home.

Born June 30, 1928, at Viola, Idaho, to Guy and Marietta (Brown) Culton, he attended the Flannigan Creek Country School near Potlatch. At an early age, he started working for the railroad on the section crew.

He married Sharon Stallman Dec. 3, 1955, at Moscow, and the couple made their home at Viola for a few years and then moved to Garfield in 1960 where they have made their home since.

He was employed as a truck driver for Tate & Sons, the McGregor Company and later started his own company, Virgil R. Culton Trucking, in 1971. He hauled logs for several logging companies and later grain for local farmers. He retired in 2001.

A member of the LaDow Grange, he enjoyed playing cards, collecting old model cars and camping. He attended the Garfield Christian Fellowship at Garfield.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sharon Culton, Garfield; one son Steve Culton (Cheryl), Buckley; one daughter, Vicky Heilman (Gary), Troy, Idaho; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Ted L. Ford, 71, died Saturday, Aug, 2, 2014, at the Tekoa Care Center, where he had made his home for the past two months. A celebration of life will be held later this month in Everett.

Born Dec. 11, 1942, in Kirkland, to Charles R. and Beatrice (Hurley) Ford, he grew up and attended schools in the Redmond and Bothell areas near Seattle and attended high school in Redmond. He married Yvonne Pike in 1962 and they made their home in Snohomish while he worked as a refrigeration engineer for American Ice and Cold Storage in Everett. He later went to work for Boeing Co. in Seattle where he was a metal press operator. He retired from Boeing for health reasons in the 1990s and moved to Omak where he made his home for many years. He later moved to Harmony House in Brewster prior to moving to the Tekoa Care Center.

He was a member of the Aerospace Union at Boeing and a member of the OK Car Club in Omak for many years when he owned a Model A Ford. Other hobbies included hunting and fishing.

Survivors are three children, Tammy Steltz of Rathdrum, Idaho; Richard (Mary) Ford of Okanogan, and T.J. (Ann) Ford of Okanogan; one brother, Neil (Mary) Ford of Everett; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa is handling the local arrangements.

Steven Oran Wright, 70, died at his home in Rosalia, Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at St. Aloysius Church, 400 E. Boone Ave. in Spokane. A reception will follow at the church.

A graveside service for Phyllis R. Dailey, 89, will be Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Freeze Cemetery with the Rev. Raleigh Mikkelson officiating. Mrs. Dailey died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Expressions at Enumclaw.

Funeral services for Lorraine Ochse, 80, will be today, Thursday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m., at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse with Pastor Kathy Kramer officiating. Burial will be at the City View Cemetery at Pasco.

Mrs. Ochse died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at her home in Palouse.
