Jean M. Rounds

A memorial service for Jean M. Rounds, 77, will be Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home, Palouse, with the Rev. Kathy Kramer officiating. She died Wednesday Feb. 12, 2014, at the Pullman Regional Hospital in Pullman.

Born March 1, 1936, at Oroville, to Charles Leslie and Margaret (Kehoe) De Merchant, she attended schools at Osoyoos, B.C., and graduated from high school there.

She married Harold Rounds Sept. 27, 1954, at Lewiston. The couple made their home at Lewiston where Mr. Rounds was employed at Bennett Lumber. The couple moved to Potlatch in 1961, and Mr. Rounds worked for Bennett Lumber Co. at Princeton. Jean was employed at Washington State University as a cook and retired after 23 years. Mr. Rounds died in 1984.

Jean was a member of the Potlatch Senior Citizens and also cooked for the seniors at Potlatch. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting and working in her garden.

Survivors include two sons, Ivan Rounds (Brenda), Potlatch; Clayton Rounds (Shelley) Potlatch; one daughter, Kellie Breeze (Jerry), Potlatch, two brothers, Stan and Dale De Merchant both in Canada; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be given to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, 83855.
