Helen Crampton Webster

A graveside service for Helen Crampton Webster, 102, native of Colfax, will be July 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Colfax Cemetery. She died Sept. 9, 2010, in Newport Bearch, Calif., and was cremated.

She had been a resident of Costa Mesa, Calif., since 1978.

Born Jan. 17, 1909, to Lawrence A. and Bertha M. Crampton in Colfax, she graduated from North Central High School in Spokane where she lived until 1948 when she moved to Phoenix, Ariz.

Surviving are two daughters, Ilene M. Klampe of Costa Mesa and Sandra L. Porter of Lakeland, Fla., three granddaughters, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Norman Crampton of Poulsbo and Claude Crampton of Colfax are half-brothers.

Moira Mortimer

A memorial service for Moira T. Mortimer, 57, will be Thursday, July 7, at 4:30 p.m. at the Hillside Court, 205 W. Wall Street in Colfax with the Kathy L. Kramer officiating. She died early May 26, 2011, at her home at the Hillside Court.

Born April 16, 1954, at Seattle, to Lloyd E. and Lilly M. Glasere Mortimer, she attended schools at Arlington and Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1974.

She made her home in care facilities at Sedro-Woolley and Bellingham, before moving to Pullman in 2003. She moved to the Hillside Court in Colfax in 2004 and has been under the care of DreamWorks Residential since March of 2004.

She attended the Methodist Church. Moira loved horses, was in 4H during school and showed cattle at fairs. She enjoyed reading, music and her cat Dutchy. She also loved to color, make cards, assemble jigsaw puzzles and collect horse figurines.

Survivors include one brother, Zane Mortimer, and one sister, Danna Moore, Pullman, two nephews, a niece and three grand-nieces.

Memorials may be given to DreamWorks Residential, Box 310, Colfax, for community activities.

Dr. Robert Humphrey

Dr. Robert B. Humphrey, 89, a member of the 1940 class of Garfield High School who was one of the first dentists to practice in Bellevue, died June 14, 2011, at Kirkland where he had recently made his home.

In accordance with his wishes, a funeral service was not conducted.

Born in Spokane Jan. 17, 1922, he was raised in Garfield by his maternal grandparents, Ben and Ora Haun, and his mother, Geneieve Lohman. After graduating at Garfield, he served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington State College and completed dental training in Seattle. He began his practice in Bellevue in the 1950s.

Dr. Humphrey was engaged in Eastside civic activites and continued his dental practice well into the 1990s. He and his wife, Therese, retired to Sun Lakes, Ariz. Mrs. Humphrey died in 2006.

Survivng are two sons, Rob (Jaqui) and Rick (Elaine), a sister, Helen Messinger of Moscow, and four grandchildren.
