Lois I. Lisenbee

A memorial service for Lois I. Lisenbee, 92, was Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Farmington. The Rev. Kathy Lee Kramer officiated. Urn burial will be at Oakesdale Cemetery in Oakesdale at a later date.

Mrs. Lisenbee died July 6, 2010, at Mission Ridge Assisted Living in Spokane Valley where she has resided for the past two years.

Born June 19, 1918, near St. John, to E. Carson and Rosetta Marie Judson Willoughby, she attended the Matlock Country School near St. John, and later Farmington High School where she graduated with the class of 1937. She married Charley Palmer Lisenbee at Colfax June 19, 1937, and they made their home near Farmington where they farmed. The Lisenbees moved from the farm into Farmington in 1959, but continued to operate the farm until retiring in 1972. Mr. Lisenbee died in March of 1993. Lois continued to live at Farmington until moving to Mission Ridge Assisted Living.

She was a member of the Farmington Skyline Club and the Garden Club. Lois also drove a school bus for the Oakesdale School District and worked the restaurant in Oakesdale. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and gardening. Charley and Lois also enjoyed wintering in Chandler, Ariz., for 17 years during the 1970s and 80s.

Survivor are two sons; Jack (Lyn) Lisenbee, Spokane; Dave (Candy) Lisenbee, Farmington; two daughters, Connie (Jerry) Kruckenberg, Tekoa; Marty (Bernie) Slocum, Spokane Valley; three sisters, Geraldine Holcomb, Spokane; Eleanor Brouse, Pullman; Lola Orr, Spokane; eight grandchildren, six step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Spokane, Box 2215, Spokane, 99210 or to the Farmington Community Center, Box 65, Farmington, 99128.
