Jeremy John Peters

A service celebrating the life of Jeremy John Richard Peters, 28, will be today, Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m., Rosalia Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at the Pine City Cemetery. He died Friday, March 5, at his home in Cheney.

Born April 1, 1981, in Spokane, he was raised in Rosalia, where he attended school. Growing up he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, trips to the Oregon coast and working on muscle cars and riding dirt bikes.

Always very social, he enjoyed family gatherings and hanging out with friends. Jeremy had a great gift of storytelling.

He was a popular tattoo artist in Spokane and used his talents and creativity to develop original designs for customers. Jeremy also loved music and attended concerts with his friends.

The loss of his brother Josh three years ago was a tremendous loss to him and his life revolved around nieces and nephews, Josalyn, C’iara and William, and his younger cousins, Stephanie, Evan, Emily and Eric.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Dennis and Cheryl Peters, Cheney; mother and stepfather, Debbi and Randy Repp, St. John; grandfather, Dick Shindler, Rosalia; great-grandmother, Frances Shindler, Rosalia; aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Eleanor C. Moore

Funeral services for Eleanor C. Moore, 92, will be Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Kramer Funeral Home, Palouse, with Pastor Kathy L. Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Palouse. Eleanor passed away early Saturday morning, March 6, 2010, at the Spokane Hospice House of Spokane with her granddaughter Jenny at her side.

She was born on April 16, 1917, near Potlatch, to Edgar L. and Mary Brantner Curtis. She attended the Daily Country School and Palouse Schools. She graduated from Palouse High School with the class of 1935.

She and William Wayne Moore were married Dec. 26, 1935, and they resided in many areas of Eastern Washington while Mr. Moore drove truck for a logging company.

In 1969, they moved to LaCrosse where her husband worked for area farmers. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker most of her life. She worked as a cook for a WSU sorority for a few years in the 1950s. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, reading and gardening.

Mr. Moore died in 1982, and she moved to Spokane in 2001 to live near her children.

Survivors include one son, David Moore, Spokane; one daughter Judy Wyborney, Cheney; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Laverne and Walter Moore.

The family suggests memorials go to the Hospice of Spokane Hospice House, 367 E. 7th, Spokane, 99202.

Helen Gage

A memorial service for Helen Gage, 92, a resident of Princeton, was Tuesday, March 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse with the Rev. Kathy Kramer officiating. Mrs. Gage had been cremated.

Mrs. Gage died Monday March 1, 2010, at Aspen Park Healthcare in Moscow where she had made her home since July of 2009.

Born July 3, 1917, at Brush, Colo., to George and Katie Walter, she attended school there and graduated from Brush High School.

She married John Gage Aug. 5, 1942, at San Diego, while Mr. Gage served with the United States Marine Corps. After his military service the couple moved to Princeton where they farmed and raised cattle. Mr. Gage died in 2009.

Helen enjoyed gardening, cooking for the harvest crew, and raising her flowers.

Survivors include her children, Ivan Gage, Moscow; Karen Cate, Meridian; George Gage, Lincoln City, Ore .; Phil Gage, Princeton; two sisters, Alma Hirtler and Ruth Brown, both of San Diego .; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James Hogue

A memorial service celebrating the life of James Victor Hogue, 73, Colfax area resident, will be Tuesday, March 16, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax.

Mr. Hogue died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

Born Jan. 16, 1937, in Arlington Heights, Hamilton City, Ohio, to Vincent and Grace Tudor Hogue, he completed his undergraduate studies in physics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1958 and completed his masters of science degree at Washington State University in Pullman in 1974. He went on to work for WSU for more than 20 years as a research physicist and for more than five years in the nuclear radiation center. He was very adept at scientific instrumentation and did work at the observatory.

He married Arlene Hellesto in 1968. She died in 1973. He married Anne Paul at their rural Colfax home June 3, 2006.

He was well versed in the Palouse area having lived here for more than 43 years and could recite many scientific facts and history related to this area. He was a charter member of the Hog Heaven Toastmasters Club in Moscow, a member of the Cougar Communicators Toastmas-ters, a lifetime member of the NRA, a former scout leader in the Troy, Idaho. Mr. Hogue was a precinct leader and very involved in the Democratic Party.

He was also passionate about flying and kept an airplane at the Colfax airport. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing.

Survived are his wife, Anne, at their home west of Colfax; two children, Amy Seeley of Yuma, Ariz., and John Hogue of Bellingham; two grandchildren; two step-daughters, Heidi and Pam; his siblings, Louis Elliott, Richard Pierre, Victor Wilson, Donna Mae and Michael Robert.

He was also preceded in death by a step-son, Phillip.

The family suggests memorials be made to a local scouting organization.

Bradley Cornilles

A funeral for Bradley Cornilles, 57, a 1972 Colfax High School graduate who resided in Elko, Nev., has been scheduled for March 27 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Colfax. He has been cremated, and the cremains will be buried in the Colfax Cemetery.

Mr. Cornilles was found dead Sunday morning, Feb. 28, 2010, in Arizona where he had been visiting.

Mr. Cornilles was employed for the Whitman County Public Works Department here before the family moved to Elko approximately 20 years ago.

He was born Feb. 12, 1953, in Nampa, Idaho, to Gordon and Jean Hindberg Cornilles, and the family later moved to Colfax. After he graduated from Colfax High he attended Spokane Community College.

His father, Gordon Cornilles, resides in Colfax. Also surviving are his wife, Rhonda, Elko; two sons, Nathan and Jason; three daughters, Nicole, Natasha and Martha; a sister, Deb St. Clair, Spokane, and a brother, Cory, El Paso, Texas.
