Jeanette Weber

A rosary service for Jeanette Teresa Meyer Weber, 85, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at St. Boniface with vault interment to follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Viewing will be at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

She died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at the family home in Uniontown.

Born May 29, 1924, in Colton, to Walter and Teresa Haupt Meyer, she grew up on the family farm at Colton and graduated from Colton High School and later from Kinman Business University in Spokane. She worked for the state Tax Commission for several years, and married John (Jack) Weber Oct. 8, 1947. They have made their home in Uniontown for the past 62 years, where she has been a loving homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and family gatherings. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the St. Boniface Altar Society.

Surviving are her husband, at the family home in Uniontown; her children Pete (Ginny) Weber, East Wenatchee; Jeanne (Ken) Prier, Portland, Ore .; Ann (Don) Drader, Moses Lake; Roberta (John) Hunter, Sedro Woolley; Patty (Tom) Schreck, Davenport; Chris (Lisa) Weber, Spokane; Margaret (Tony) Gaspich, Bainbridge Island; one brother, James Meyer of Colton; one sister, Shirley Heitstuman, Clarkston; 24 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by their youngest son, Charles (Chuck) Weber, in 1985.

The family suggests memorial donations go to St. Boniface Endowment Fund, Box 126, Uniontown, 99179, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Robert Horlacher

Robert D. (Bob) Horlacher, 64, died Jan. 27, 2010, following a three year battle with metastasized prostate cancer. Family and friends plan to celebrate his life near his birth date.

Born in Spokane, March 10, 1945, to John and Katherine Horlacher of Rosalia, he was raised on the family farm with an older brother and two sisters and graduated from Rosalia High School with the class of 1963. He served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. After receiving his honorable discharge he returned to farm work and apprenticed as a specialty builder. After the family’s farm was sold in the 1980s, he assisted others on their farms and developed a career as a professional builder.

Surviving are a partner of fifteen years and his siblings.

Memorial donations may be made to Friends of Hospice, Family Home Care & Hospice.

Robert H. Ackerman

Funeral services for Robert (Bob) Ackerman, 79, will be at 4 p.m., Feb. 13, 2010, at Life Center Four Square Church in Spokane and at 10 a.m., Feb. 15, 2010, at Country Bible Church in Dusty.

Mr. Ackerman died suddenly last Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Arizona Regional Hospital in Yuma.

He made his winter home in Yuma.

Born Jan. 7, 1931, in Colfax, to Henry and Elizabeth L. Scheer Ackerman, he was raised in the Dusty area and graduated from Endicott High School in 1949.

At Washington State College, he majored in agriculture and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

He attended college on a ROTC scholarship after graduation. In 1953 he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

He met A. Marie Tyrrell while in college and they married in Walla Walla, Aug. 16, 1953.

Mr. Ackerman served as a pilot in the Air Force and later with the Air National Guard for 20 years. He also served as a pilot for United Air Lines for 24 years and flew routes across the Pacific.

He retired in 1991.

The Ackermans made their home in Snoqualmie for 35 years and then moved to the Valleyford area for their retirement.

His wife, Marie, preceded him in death.

He enjoyed working in his shop, mostly on car projects and browsing flea markets.

He also served as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and for Work and Witness teams overseas.

Survived are four daughters, Laura (Tom) Burnside-McElligott, Heppner, Ore .; Robin (Dennis) Legg, Sisters, Ore .; Ann (Jim) Petzel, Evergreen, Colo .; and Lisa (Randy) Emtman of Valleyford; his brother, Richard Ackerman of Richland; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His family suggests that memorials and remembrances be made to: Country Bible Church at Dusty, Habitat for Humanity, AWANA, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Young Life, RBC Ministries, Our Daily Bread or Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
