    Sgt. Charles H. Daman, 21, was killed in action on April 4, 1945, when his B-24M "Red Bow" was attacked by German Messerschmitt 262's and crashed near Ludwigslust, Germany, during WWII. Sgt. Daman served with the 714th Bomber Squadron and was a Staff Sergeant & Bombardier/Togglier on the B-24M. He was positively identified and his remains will be sent to Kramer Funeral Home, Palouse, with full military honors to be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens,... Full story

    Raymond Nelson, a native of Colfax, died July 2, 2018, at his retirement home in Spokane. He was 94. In accordance with his request, a funeral service will not be conducted. He was born in Colfax May 5, 1924, to Frank and Katherine Cochran Nelson. He was a lifetime member of the painters union. Surviving are a son, Larry Nelson, at Nine Mile Falls.
