Marguerite Dube

March 29, 1921 – June 27, 2018

Marguerite Dube died peacefully on June 27, 2018, in Spokane, Wash. Marguerite was born on March 29, 1921, in Lind, Wash. to Emmett and Edna Taylor. At age five, the family moved to a farm near Ralston, Wash. where she and her brother, Dale, were raised. A horse-drawn buggy got them to the one-room schoolhouse where their mother was the teacher. Marguerite completed high school in Ritzville, Wash. and went on to WSC earning a BA in Home Economics in 1942. After graduation, she took an Army payroll job in Seattle and in 1943 she married her college sweetheart, Ron. Soon after marrying, they were called back to operate his family farm in Rosalia, Wash. There they raised their family and were active members of the local community. They lived on the farm until 1993, then moved to Spokane. Their Spokane home was a wonderful gathering place where many great meals and chocolate chip cookies were shared with family and friends.

Ron passed away in 2004 and a few years later Marguerite moved on to enjoy senior residences at Brookdale and Alderwood Manor. She is survived by her daughters, Louise Wetzel (Ray), Marilyn Harkins (Dennis), Elaine Widman (Don), Marita Bothman (Mike); and her son, Roy Dube (Carley). She was blessed with nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Marguerite was a life-long supporter of education! She took pride in all of the graduates in her family and supported scholarships for Rosalia students over the years.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to INNOVIA FOUNDATION (memo line must say: Rosalia Scholarship Fund in memory of Marguerite Dube).
