    Tekoa/Rosalia boys sustained two defeats Tuesday at Davenport to wrap up their baseball season. The Gorilla took out the T-wolves 17-6 in the first game and 14-9 in the second game. Tekoa/Rosalia made the Davenport trip with nine players. For the season, they played eight of the 20 games on the schedules, when grades and discipline measures took a toll on the lineup.     Colfax senior Hunter Weitze hit a par 72 for medalist honors in a NE golf outing at Deer Park Monday, and freshman Chance Weitze finished with a 75 for second place honors. Colfax did not have a team entry with some team members remaining in Colfax for the Monday night band concert. Other scores from the Bulldogs were Bennett Gray 88 and Augie Allenbach with a 94.   • Vikings lose to Pomeroy twice

    The Gar-Pal baseball team traveled to Pomeroy last Saturday and went down twice, 11-1 and 5-1. The two losses drop the Vikings out of the playoff race, with an 8-6 overall record and 1-5 in league. "Costly errors," said Garfield-Palouse coach Jim Stewart. "Way too many walks and passed balls in the first game. In the second game, we didn’t walk as many people. But we still didn’t hit the ball again either."     Trailing 3-0 in the seventh inning, Colton delivered four runs to beat Genessee Monday night. In a sparse day at the plate, the Wildcats managed six hits in the game – six different batters with one single.     The season-long win string for the Colfax softball team came to an end Tuesday at Reardan when the Indians rallied in the sixth inning for a 5-2 win in the second game. The Reardan charge ended the Colfax run at 15 games. The Bulldogs have four more league games to finish out the league run.     The Colfax baseball players added two more wins to stretch their win string to 18-0 in the NE race after escaping a late-inning charge by the Indians at Reardan Tuesday night.     The Colfax School District board has approved a candidate for appointment as the next principal of Colfax High School. The vote Monday night was unanimous, choosing Nathan Whittle — an assistant principal/athletic director from American Falls, Idaho — out of six original candidates.     Aerial photos of Main Street Colfax were on display April 23 at the Department of Transportation open house in Colfax to inform residents of the Highway 195 project which will start in June. Poe Asphalt Paving of Clarkston was awarded the contract for the Main Street grinding and resurfacing project on Main Street in Colfax. The Poe bid was $2,028,765.     Colfax residents and businesses were disconnected from rest of the world Friday and Saturday when internet and telephone services went down. Century Link reported Saturday the shutdown was caused by a cut fiber line near Colfax. Long distance callers and internet users discovered around 9:30 a.m. Friday that service was knocked out.
