The Sciborgs compete on the world stage in St. Louis.

The Sciborgs, the Palouse area 4H robotics team, last weekend competed in the four-day F.I.R.S.T. World Championship in St. Louis. The Edward Jones Dome was the venue for 607 robotics teams from 40 countries. The large arena housed eight different playing fields named after giants in science and technology: Archimedes, Carson, Carver, Curie, Galileo, Hopper, Newton and Tesla.

Winners from each field moved on to play the ultimate tournament of “Recycle Rush” on the Einstein Field as a grand finale.

The Sciborgs competed on the Curie Field with 75 other teams. The Sciborgs made it to the playoffs as part of the best 32 teams on Curie.

The Sciborgs were chosen to be part of an alliance with a team from Sydney, Australia, and Issaquah. The back-up alliance partner was from Metamora, Illinois.

With great teamwork the alliance was able to achieve the highest score in the quarter finals. After intense competition in the semi-finals, the alliance finished third overall on Curie.
