    A former music teacher at Lewis-Clark State College and longtime private piano teacher in Pullman has set up shop in Palouse. Annette Klover, who formerly helped set up the Palouse Food Pantry in 2012, will teach private lessons at the Palouse Federated Church while also continuing sessions at Gladish Community Center in Pullman.     A group of Washington State University landscape architecture students is working with the City of Pullman parks department to develop a wetland mitigation, a five-acre park at 1570 SE Johnson Road. Now under development, it was created in 2010 with a donation from the Herb Neil estate. The students will work on the project through May 1. As part of their third-year class, nine students developed an interpretive theme and designs for a wetland mitigation garden and interpretive trail.     David Nordquist of Pullman survived three days of competition to win the cowboy poetry first place trophy at the Columbia River Cowboy Gathering in Kennewick last weekend. In so doing he earned the title "Cowboy Idol," which will be his for a year. This is the second year in a row that a member of the Palouse Country Cowboy Poetry Association has won the event.   • Community Action Center awarded $800,000 grant for apartment complex

    Community Action Center has been awarded $800,000 from the Washington State Housing Trust to build RiverView Apartments, a 56-unit complex that will provide affordable housing in Pullman. The RiverView project will be located just southeast of Pullman Regional Hospital and directly east of the Palouse Business Park off Fairmont Road.
