    COLFAX - A semi travelling southbound on US195 lost control on Friday, March 17, as it headed around the curve towards Pullman. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) confirmed that a vehicle number one went off the roadway to the right, colliding with the roadway ditch and a rock embankment.     OLYMPIA — The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking candidates to fill seven positions on a volunteer committee that advises the agency on administering the Hydraulic Code designed to protect fish.     COLFAX — The Colfax boys team swept the Potlatch Loggers and the Orofino Maniacs in a doubleheader Friday, March 17. Colfax took the games 1-14 and 1-5.     COLFAX — The National Weather Service of Spokane has predicted a much dryer season for the Palouse area this year.     COLFAX — The Senate’s slim passage of legislation will now allow law-enforcement officers to engage in vehicular pursuits under newly amended circumstances. Senate Bill (SB) 5352 passed with a 26-23 vote on the final day of the session on March 8.     COLFAX — The Whitman County Association of Realtors released the Feb. Housing market numbers, which state that the average price for a home sold in the county last month was about $349,500. Reports state that last month’s average price increased by around $59,600 from January and decreased by $9,200 from a year ago.     COLFAX — Assault rifles may soon be illegal in Washington, pending the passing of House Bill (HB) 1240 and its partnering HB 1143 in the Senate. HB 1240 would prohibit the manufacture, importation, distribution, selling, and offering for sale of assault weapons.
