  • Garfield approves Amazon account for low tool prices

    The town of Garfield has approved the creation of an Amazon account to price tools in order to search for the lowest price in conjunction with a local search. The matter came up in February, when Public Works Assistant Mark Phillips suggested the town set up an account, saying tools can be bought for 25 percent less than local stores.   • Spring Fling Dance booked for Saturday in Endicott

    The Endicott/St. John Parent-Teacher Organization is hosting its first event this weekend. The public is invited to the Family Spring Fling Dance at the Endicott School in the multi-purpose room in the building. The dance is open to anyone. “We decided to have it open to everyone, not to exclude anybody,” said Tia Langston, PTO secretary. “It's a community dance.” The dance will run from 6-9 p.m., and photos will be available for purchase.   • Palouse considers future of wind damaged reservoir

    The possible replacement of a brick reservoir in Palouse built in 1910 is being discussed after it was damaged from wind storms in November and December. The steel-lined structure off I Street on the north end of town has a capacity of 150,000 gallons. It sits next to a newer half-million gallon concrete reservoir.     A supplemental budget proviso is being considered by the state legislature regarding weeds along the John Wayne Trail. The proposal, put forth by Ninth District State Senator Mark Schoesler, would direct Washington State Parks to spend $100,000 of their existing budget (from agency earned revenue) to use for weed control along the trail.
