Pullman board names new superintendent

The Pullman School Board at its meeting last week appointed Dr. Robert Maxwell to the position of superintendent, effective July 1. Now serving as the assistant superintendent, Maxwell will take over the superintendent duties from Paul Sturm, who last spring announced his plans to retire. Sturm has headed the district since 2002.

Maxwell has been a district administrator for 25 years, and prior to being employed with the Pullman School District was an administrator in the Bothell School District. He received a doctoral degree in education from Washington State University and...
