James Aeschliman

James K. Aeschliman, 77, died Feb. 18, 2013, at Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital in Post Falls. A memorial service was Friday, Feb. 22, at the First Presbyterian Church in Walla Walla.

Born Jan. 13, 1936, in Portland, to Foster T. and Sylvia Marie Bensel Aeschliman, he resided in the Onecho area as a boy and enjoyed returning here for family reunions.

He received an associate degree in hotel and restaurant management from Oxnard College in Southern California. In 1976 he married Nancy Schnebly in Oxnard. He served 11 years in active duty in the U.S. Navy and 19 years in the Naval Reserve. He worked in food service and taught food service classes, retiring in 1996.

Surviving in addition to his wife at home are four daughters: Susan Hall, Mary Hrabik, Ann Riemer, and Carol Aeschliman; his son, Eric Aeschliman; two brothers, Larry, Don and Owen, and three grandchildren.
