Colfax Bulldogs set to play volleyball and football this week

COLFAX - Colfax High School sports are in full swing this week.

Football will host their second-straight home game of the season, while the volleyball team will start their season on the road.

The Bulldogs football team is hosting the Chewelah Cougars at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8.

The Bulldogs are 0-1 on the season after taking a heavy 49-14 loss at the hands of the Lind-Ritzville Broncos.

JP Wigen was a bright spot for the Bulldogs early, scoring a touchdown on the first drive for the Bulldogs, but they could not produce much else until the last drive of the game.

On the other hand, the Bulldogs defense held the Broncos to zero points in the second half, and will use that to fuel themselves for Fridays upcoming game.

For the Bulldogs volleyball team, they will not play until Tuesday, Sept. 12, an away game against Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle.

The first home volleyball game of the season for the Bulldogs is Thursday, Sept 14, against the Clarkston Bantams. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs also have a home game Saturday, Sept. 16, against Ferris at noon, then have an away game Tuesday, Sept. 19, against Lind-Ritzville. That game is set to start at 6:30 p.m.
