Golfer in 7th after Day 1 of state

Haas only qualifier for Tekoa-Rosalia

DEER PARK — A Liberty (Spangle) girl golfing on the Tekoa-Rosalia team was in seventh-place after the first day of state competition Tuesday, May 24.

Maddie Haas, finished the first day at state with a 96 at the Deer Park Golf Club.

Day 2 occurred after The Gazette went to press. Golfing was scheduled to resume at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 25.

Prior to the start of state, Haas was awarded All-League honors at district

Haas was the only Timberwolf to qualify for the state tournament.

Wrapping up the Tekoa-Rosalia golf season, Levi Fletcher and Josh Bonham both made the cut for the district tournament Tuesday, May 10. However, the two did not qualify for state.

“They did not make the cut for state, but had a great last day of golf at the Red Wolf Golf Course in Clarkston,” Coach Angie Rambo said.

Kellen Tee and Haas both competed in the 1B/2B District 7 tournament at Meadowwood.

There, Haas tied for second overall.
