Colfax girls sweep Dragons

Bulldogs remain undefeated as season nears end

COLFAX — The unbeaten Colfax High School volleyball team (6-0) was set to travel to Chewelah on Tuesday night followed by a home match March 11 against Davenport.

Results were not available at press time.

The Bulldogs have an added date — March 20 at Clarkston — before its last two matches of the season: at Liberty (Spangle) on March 23 and at home March 25 against Reardan.

Colfax played at St. George’s in Spokane on March 9, winning 3-0. Set scores were 25-6, 25-11, 25-14 as Asher Cai delivered nine aces and Jaisha Gibb 10 assists.

Anni Cox added 5 digs and Perry Imler and Sophia Klaveano each added 4 kills

On March 13, the Bulldogs swept Asotin 25-22, 25-13, 25-12.

Justice Brown had 17 assists and seven aces while Sophie Klaveano got 11 kills.

Anni Cox added 12 digs. and Asher Cai had one block.

The Bulldogs next head to Clarkston to play the much larger 2A Bantams (4-2).

The Bantams victories have been against Rogers (Spokane), East Valley (Spokane and Othello.

Then, the Colfax girls travel to Spangle to face off against another undefeated Class 2B team, the Liberty Lancers (6-0).

Liberty played Spangle rival Upper Columbia Academy on Tuesday night, March 16. The results of that matchup were not available at press time.

On March 25, Colfax will host Reardan.

The Reardan Indians are 1-5 overall. Reardan previously lost to the Upper Columbia Lions, 3-1, on Feb. 23.
