Oakesdale girls stack big win at CV regional meet

Oakesdale girls stacked an amazing 184.5 points Friday and Saturday at the regional qualifier on the Central Valley track to pave their way back to the state finals at Eastern Washington University this weekend. The Oakesdale point total was 79.5 ahead of the 105 second-place tally logged by league foe Pomeroy.

St. John/Endicott/ LaCrosse girls came in a close third with 94.

Oakesdale will return to the 1B finals where they dueled Trout Lake last year and landed in second by a scant three points.

The total stacked by the Oakesdale girls at CV was the highest for the meet which included 2B finals.

Oakesdale girls won seven of the events with freshman Bree Rawls again dominating the hurdles and picking up a win in the triple jump.

Lizzy Perry won the 800 and 1600. Lauryn Rawls won the discus, and Aliya Rutledge won the javelin.

Anais Mills of Garfield/Palouse won the 3200 and placed second to Perry in the 800 and 1600.

Valley Christian won the boys side of the NE with 102 points. St. John/ Endicott/LaCrosse placed sixth with 56, and Oakesdale placed seventh with 46.

Oakesdale junior Matt Hockett won both sprint events and the javelin.
