Southeast 1B league/district tournament: Oakesdale takes Vikings in title game

Oakesdale did it.

After a 24-hour delay and canceled school due to snow, on Thursday night, Feb. 14, with snow piles on the streets leading to the Colfax gym, the Nighthawks and Garfield/Palouse played king of the hill.

In their third meeting of the year, this time for the championship of the Southeast 1B league/District 9 tournament, Oakesdale won 50-42.

Garfield/Palouse had beaten them three consecutive times going back to last year.

But not this time – perhaps one the Vikings would trade all the others for.
