Oakesdale sweeps Colton to extend string

Oakesdale Nighthawks advanced their SE league record to 9-0 Tuesday night with a three-game sweep over Colton on the home court. Line score was 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20.

Brooklyn Henley hit 22 kills at the Wildcats and had five blocks. Logan Reed also had 22 kills and four aces.

LouEllen Reed had 30 assists and Lizzy Perry had 12 digs.

Emily Schultheis had seven kills and four blocks for the Wildcats, and Abby Kelly had 11 assists.

Oakesdale swept SJEL in the Thursday round on their home court.

SJEL moved their SE mark to 5-4 in the Tuesday round with a sweep over Touchet in a home match on the LaCrosse court, 25-6, 25-12, 25-15 to remain in third place in the Southeast 1B league.

The senior-dominated Eagles, 12-10 overall, will play at second-place Pomeroy Thursday.

"I can see state in our future if we keep playing the way that we're playing," said first-year head coach Jenn Johnson.

Tuesday at LaCrosse, the home of Ashley Parker, Autumn Meyer and Allyn Harder, Rachel Larsen served six aces against Touchet, while Roxy Dickerson had 18 assists, Ashlynn Archer hit 13 kills and four blocks. Harder had 29 digs.

Pomeroy, number two in the league, advanced their mark to 7-1 with a sweep over Garfield/Palouse 25-8, 25-16 and 25-9 on the Vikings court Tuesday night.

Pomeroy's Deana Caruso hit 11 kills against the Vikings, and Sydney Smith put up 20 assists and hit three aces.

Pomeroy swept Touchet in three straight in the Thursday round, 25-5, 25-11 and 25-15 with Caruso hitting 10 kills.

Timberwolves defeat Indians

Tekoa/Rosalia Timberwolves edged Reardan in five games in the Thursday round of NE action with a 17-15 fifth game finale in the marathon match. The Timberwolves came back after losing the first two games 20-25, 20-25 to the Indians.

They won the next two 25-14 and 25-16 and then battled through the extra long fifth game.

Tuesday, Asotin swept TR 25-21, 25-13 and 25-17.
