Vikings drop doubleheader to Pomeroy

The Garfield/Palouse baseball team played its first home games April 21, losing a doubleheader to Pomeroy.

In the first game, the Pirates won 11-1 without an earned run.

“That tells you, kind of how that went,” said Gar/Pal coach Mike Jones.

Hogan Heytvelt pitched for Pomeroy, throwing all seven innings with 15 strikeouts, allowing two Gar/Pal hits, one of them an RBI-single from Blake Jones which scored Seth Thompson.

Jones started on the mound for the Vikings (5-6 overall, 4-5 league), going five innings for five strikeouts...
