Colton, Pomeroy one and two for SE 1B girls

Colton and Pomeroy finished out the Southeast 1B league girls regular season in first and second place.

The Wildcats take the no. 1 seed into the District Nine tournament, which began Wednesday at home sites. The top six teams will vie in the double-elimination bracket for two spots to advance to the state 1B sub-tournament. It all leads to Spokane Arena in the first week of March.

Colton 65, Oakesdale 3

Colton beat the Nighthawks at home to finish an unbeaten season in league play Feb. 3.

The Wildcats (20-1, 12-0) led 37-9 at halftime.

Dakota Patchen scored 21 points on the night while Rylee Vining added 11. Emily Schultheis led the defense, holding top Oakesdale scorer Logan Reed to seven points.

Emma Perry paced the Nighthawks with 10 points while Lizzy Perry got eight.

Colton 68, Garfield/Palouse 35

Playing at Palouse Friday, Feb. 2, the Wildcats ran away with a win after leading by 14 points at halftime. Colton outscored Gar/Pal 38-19 in the second half.

Emily Schultheis led with 19 points while Dakota Patchen scored 12, Abby Kelly 11 and Jordyn Moehrle 11. Georgia Meyer had eight rebounds for the game while Patchen added five assists and four steals. Katie Arrasmith led Gar/Pal with 17 points while Payson Griner had 10.
