Healthy soils session

Experts from Washington State University, The University of Idaho, and USDA-ARS will present their research and experience at The Foundation of Healthy Farms one day workshop Feb. 8 from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Banyans on the Ridge-Pavillion in Pullman. Registration, welcome and introduction begins at 7:45 a.m. with speakers beginning at 8:30. There will be a panel discussion after lunch.

Topics will include managing to increase soil carbon and benefits of cropping system diversity; the role of roots in soil health; soil erosion by wind and water; testing for soil health; how policy affects soil health and cropping system management, and a panel with representatives from the NRCS, the Palouse Conservation District, and the RMA to discuss the roles of their respective agencies.

Early bird registration is $30 with a standard ticket at $42.85. The workshop has been approved for 8.5 CCA credits.
